Welcome to the Logan River Family History Society Inc.

We are a friendly group of people from the Logan area who like to research and preserve the history of our ancestors and the area we now call home.  Some of our members have links to the early settlers in the district and so have valuable family history to share. Others have moved here in more recent times and bring with them customs and stories from different cultures from all over the world.

Yes, you can research from home as long as you have a computer and have joined a research company but being a Society member gives you the knowledge to research efficiently and correctly and the advantage of friendly help and advice. Our rostered Librarians are experienced in checking the validity of research and can help if you hit a 'brickwall'.

As a financial member you have free access to Ancestry, My Heritage and Find My Past while in our library, as well as  the hundreds of CD’s and publications in our library.  Also, members can choose to help with research work, preparing publications and collating family histories in many different forms, mostly involving the Logan area.

We have visiting speakers at our meetings and periodically plan group day trips to interesting history related sites.  Library hours and meeting times can be found here.

Special Membership Offer

As our society is experiencing such a time of change at present, a special price for long term membership will be offered to all present and new members.

Single members can pay $35 for one year or $55 for two years.

Couples can pay $50 for one year or $80 for two years.

This membership fee offer is a “once only”, i.e. a member can only take advantage of this offer once.  It will apply to membership fees due on the 1st July 2018.  The three year special price expired at the end of December 2018.  The two year special price will expire at the end of 2019.
